LCV's State Capacity Building Mission

The mission of the State Capacity Building Division of LCV is to elevate the profile of state environmental politics by increasing the institutional and, more importantly, the political capacity of state Leagues of Conservation Voters (LCVs).

In turn, the mission of the state leagues is largely to hold state elected officials politically accountable on a host of state environmental and conservation issues.

Our goal is to strengthen existing member LCVs and establish new state conservation voter leagues where none currently exist.

We build the capacity of member organizations by providing training, mentoring, technical and financial assistance, and by facilitating resource sharing and networking. We also share successful models and best practices from state to state through an annual conference, regional "boot camps" and year-round technical support.
