MVC's Pro-Environment Candidates Fared Well in Primary Races
Of the nine candidates that MVC endorsed in 2008 primary races for the Missouri General Assembly, eight won their elections on August 5th. Congratulations to the following office seekers – thanks for proving that pro-conservation candidates can win!
St. Louis area:
- Jim Trout – Senate District 15 (Garnered 50.17% of the votes)
- Rachel Storch – House District 64 (Garnered 82.4% of the votes)
- Maria Chappelle-Nadal – House District 72 (Garnered 80.94% of the votes)
- Steve Brown – House District 73 (Garnered 59.63% of the votes)
- Vicki Lorenz Englund – House District 85 (Garnered 67% of the votes)
- Jeanne Kirkton – House District 91 (Garnered 86.8% of the votes)
Mid-Missouri:
- Mary Still – House District 25 (Garnered 55% of the votes
Southern Missouri:
- Dennis Wood – House District 62 (Won by a margin of 58.1%)
MVC plans to endorse additional legislative candidates for the general elections in November. We will post those additional names on our web site when those endorsements are made later this summer.
