New York LCV: Endorsements In Westchester, Albany Counties

The New York League of Conservation Voters has completed its first round of endorsements for the 2007 political season, focusing on races in Albany and Westchester counties. The endorsements include Republicans and Democrats, and run the gamut from county Legislatures, to town supervisors and mayors.

Among them are Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner and Yonkers Mayor Phil Amicone in Westchester County, and Sandy Gordon and Lucille McKnight, who are seeking re-election to the Albany County Legislature.

Feiner said: "I am very honored to receive the support from the NYLCV. We are very proud of our open space acquisition effort, and our energy conservation initiatives. I am quite proud that Nicci Coddington, our energy coordinator for the Town of Greenburgh has been appointed by Governor Eliot Spitzer to a statewide post regarding conservation. I have dedicated my efforts as Greenburgh Town Supervisor to keep up the fight for cleaner air, cleaner water and less dependency on foreign fossil-fuel." McKnight said: "I am excited about getting the endorsement of the New York League of Conservation Voters. This will offer me the resources' and support to spread my environmental message across urban Albany. I will focus my efforts on cleaning up some contaminated sites and Brownfield's in our Empire Zone."
