t's official: NYLCV's Eco-Slate swept in the September primaries! All four of our candidates facing primaries have been officially declared as winners, following a complete tally of absentee ballots.

Absentee ballots made the difference to Lucille McKnight, a Democrat who was seeking re-election to represent the 2nd District in the Albany County Legislature. After initially being down by three votes -- she had 253 votes, compared with 256 votes for Lester Freeman, according to unofficial results -- McKnight was pronounced victorious last week. Since McKnight has no Republican challenger, she is guaranteed to return for a fifth term.

Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul FeinerGreenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner got a green light toward starting his fifth term in that Westchester County municipality, after his victory over Suzanne Berger in the Democratic primary.

After all the results were tallied, Feiner said the endorsement contributed significantly to his primary win, and he underscored his commitment to the environment in his next term. To read more about his "green" priorities, click here.

Yonkers Mayor Phil Amicone

Yonkers Mayor Phil Amicone handily won the Republican primary over former City Council President Vincenza Restiano, taking roughly 70 percent of the vote.

For his second term, Amicone has articulated an aggressive environmental agenda for the state's fourth largest city that focuses on improvements along the Hudson, Saw Mill and Bronx rivers. To read more, click here.

Albany County Legislator Sandy Gordon

Finally, Alexander "Sandy" Gordon also advanced in his re-election bid for the 39th District in the Albany County Legislature, following a win over challenger Paul Crosier in the Democratic primary.
